Telecast Marketplace is a free place to list things you want to sell or give away near you, in Canada and the United States. These rules apply to every listing and message. They are short on purpose. If you’re not sure whether something is allowed, don’t list it.
Who can post
You must be 18 or older and signed in to post, message or report.
Posting and messaging are open to members in Canada and the United States. Anyone can browse.
Only list items you own and have the right to sell, located in the city you choose.
What you can’t list
Weapons, firearms, firearm parts and magazines, ammunition, explosives and fireworks, and replica or imitation firearms.
Prohibited or controlled weapons, such as brass knuckles, switchblades, and pepper spray or bear spray sold as a weapon.
Illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Cannabis and cannabis products, including seeds and edibles.
Prescription and over-the-counter medicines.
Alcohol, tobacco, nicotine and vaping products.
Live animals, and parts of protected or endangered species. Pet supplies are fine.
Whole vehicles: cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, trailers and RVs. Parts and accessories are fine.
Counterfeit, replica or stolen goods.
Recalled products.
Adult or sexual content and services.
Services of any kind, jobs, rentals and real estate.

Anything that is illegal where the buyer or the seller is.
Check for recalls
Before you sell or buy children’s products, car seats, helmets, appliances or electronics, check the official recall lists: Health Canada recalls and US CPSC recalls.
Listing rules
Use real photos of the actual item (1 to 8) and describe it honestly, including any flaws.
One listing per item. Don’t post the same thing more than once.
Prices are in whole dollars. Items in Free stuff must be free.
Don’t put your phone number, email or home address in a listing. Buyers can message you on Telecast.
No offensive, misleading or spam listings, and no links to other selling sites.
Listings stay up for 30 days. You can renew a listing up to 3 times. Please mark items as sold once they’re gone.
You can post up to 5 listings a day (2 in your account’s first 24 hours) and have up to 50 active at a time.
How listings are reviewed
Most listings go live straight away. Some are held for a quick review first, for example when they mention a word linked to a prohibited item or look like a duplicate.
Anyone signed in can report a listing or message. When 3 different members report the same listing, it is hidden until our team reviews it.
Our team may hide or remove listings, hide messages, and stop accounts from using Marketplace when the rules are broken. Review is done by people, on a best-effort basis. We can’t check every listing.
Buying and selling
Telecast doesn’t take payments, hold money, ship items or charge fees. You agree on the price and the meeting place with the other person directly. Please read our safety tips before you meet anyone.
Telecast Marketplace is a free listing service. Telecast is not a party to any sale, does not handle payments, and does not inspect, guarantee or verify items or users. Buyers and sellers are responsible for their own transactions and for following the law.
