The community boards are a free place to talk with people in your city about local events, questions, recommendations and buying and selling. Posts are written by members and are not checked by Telecast before they appear. These rules apply to every post, reply, photo and private message.
Who can post
Anyone can read the boards. You must be signed in and 18 or older to post, reply, send private messages or report.
Posting is open to members in Canada and the United States for now.
Post on the board for the city the post is about.
Be respectful
No harassment, threats, hate speech, or attacks on people or groups.
No sexual or adult content, and nothing involving minors that is sexual or exploitative.
No spam, repeated posts, chain messages or unsolicited advertising. Up to 2 links per post.
No scams, fraud, or requests for money, gift cards or account details.
Nothing illegal, and no selling of items that are not allowed on Marketplace.
Don’t pretend to be someone else, and don’t post false information meant to mislead or cause harm.
Only post photos you took or have the right to share, and don’t post photos of people without their consent.
Buying and selling
The Buy and sell topic is for local questions and discussion, such as where to find something. To sell or give away an item, create a listing on Telecast Marketplace. Telecast does not handle payments and is not part of any deal between members.
Privacy
Don’t post anyone’s personal information, such as a home address, phone number or email, including your own. We show a warning when a post looks like it contains contact details.
Use private messages to talk one to one. Phone numbers, emails and links in a first private message are hidden until the other person replies.
Photos are resized and their location and camera data are removed when you upload them.
Limits
Up to 10 new posts and 100 replies per day.
Slow mode: wait 30 seconds between posts or replies.
Up to 20 new private conversations and 200 private messages per day (shared with Marketplace).
One photo per post or reply.
Reports and moderation
Use Report on any post, reply or private message that breaks these rules. Reasons include: spam or scam, harassment or bullying, hate or violence, someone’s private information, sexual content, illegal goods or activity, false or misleading, other.
A post or reply that receives 3 reports from different members is hidden automatically until our team reviews it.
Our team may hide or remove posts, close replies, and suspend accounts that break these rules. Suspended accounts can’t post on the boards or Marketplace.
You can block a member so they can’t send you private messages.
If someone is in immediate danger, call 911.
Keeping things tidy
You can delete your own posts and replies at any time. Private messages are kept for 12 months. Reports and moderation records are kept for 24 months. Photos from deleted or removed posts are erased within 30 days. See our privacy policy and terms.
